                                                                               People take up karate for a huge range of reasons such as Self Defense or Fitness.

                                                           The Centre for Karate Excellence in Mitcham offers you the chance to do fitness with a purpose.

                                                                             You'll experience the benefits of cardio and strength training as you develop skills that can be important    for protecting your family.

 

Why Karate? Aren't I too old for now?

Nope! One of the best things about karate is that you work at your own pace. Unlike footy or soccer, your

competition isn't the other team: it's yourself. Karate is about self-improvement and getting better in your

own time. We'll push you at Centre for Karate Excellence, but never more than you can handle. While injuries

and age can get in the way of a lot of sports, karate is something you can do for the rest of your life. And if

you have kids, you can even experience the fun of training with them! Many men find success in martial arts

well into their 30's and 40's, sometimes 50's. With karate, you still have some "upside" and can improve and

get better over time. You could even get your black belt. We've had blokes grade to black belt well after 50.

They're not handed the belt either, they put in the work and slogged it out! Now it's your turn. 

It's Important to get exercise,

but sometimes the gym sucks!

Getting in a regular workout is an important part of maintaining your health at any age. But going to the gym and getting in a session six days a week isn't for everyone. 

One of the reasons people don't like going to the gym is that you're doing it alone. When you do karate, you have an instructor that holds you accountable. Once you show up to class, the Sensei is on your back for the whole 90 minutes. Making sure you sweat, making sure you work. That's one of the reasons people love Karate training. Because you get held accountable when you're there. 

When no one's watching, it's easy to slack off. You can do few reps, or jump off the treadmill five minutes early. When you're at karate training with your team, you just have to get it done and finish!

* We're located in Mitcham

* It's $35. That's it.

* You get to train for 3 weeks. 

* Classes are Tuesday and Thursday 7:30-9pm

* Or you can do Saturdays 9:30-10:30am

* You get a uniform for free. It's worth $70

* If you like it, after 3 weeks you can sign up for the rest of the term.
