Unsu Kai Karate has something for everyone!

Unsu Kai Karate is a first class martial arts club based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Whether you're an absolute beginner, or have some martial arts experience our karate club is right for you. Please browse the site and don't forget to book your first lesson.
With so many martial arts schools out there, it can be difficult to know which one is right for you. Unsu Kai Karate provides a friendly learning environment with classes suitable for adults, teens and children. Students are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace. Every Unsu Kai Karate class provides a challenge, and we like to train hard. You will leave class feeling that you have achieved something! The students in our club are of a high standard and have proven to be some of the best in the area. We have a proud competition history with many of our students winning State and National titles.

9 months ago I never thought I would be doing Karate. I was pretty keen on indoor soccer and that was my passion. I came along to give it a go and soon I was training three times a week.

It wasn’t long before I developed an interest in tournaments. The training for the tournaments isn’t easy. The training is more physical and demanding to get us prepared for tournaments.

In October 2010, I won a Victorian State Title at the National All Styles state championships. I competed against karate, taekwondo and kickboxing clubs from all over Victoria.

I followed this up by winning my first Australian championship in Sydney in December, 2010. I won the National title for men’s novice where I was competing against 35 other Australians. When I reached the final I had to take on one of my peers, Michael, so it was Unsu Kai fighting for first and second in Australia!

In 2010 I made great mates at Unsu Kai who I train with every week. Karate is something I would definitely recommend to anybody who wants to learn something new.         - Sean Hindmarch, aged 19
